Independent pharmacies reporting — frequently asked questions

What Power BI reports does an independent pharmacy need?

The reports that cover the business end to end are net reimbursement and per-script margin (after DIR/GER clawbacks), underwater/below-cost claims, gross margin by drug and NDC, inventory turns and dead stock, script volume and fill trend, generic dispensing rate, payer/PBM mix and concentration, third-party AR and rejections, and adherence (PDC) and clinical revenue — plus a multi-store scorecard. Each is available here as a template you can clone.

Do these work with PioneerRx, BestRx, QS/1, or Computer-Rx data?

Yes. You export from whatever dispensing system you run — PioneerRx, BestRx, Liberty Software, QS/1 (RedSail), or Computer-Rx — and pair it with your PBM remittances (835 or CSV) and wholesaler cost from the McKesson, Cardinal, or AmerisourceBergen portal. The template models the join into a Power BI report. The samples here use synthetic data so you can see the finished shape first.

Is any real patient or claim data used in these templates?

No. Every report on these pages is built from realistic but entirely synthetic data — generic PBMs, anonymized drug labels, standard NDC-style identifiers, made-up dollar amounts. There is no PHI and no real remittance. When you build your own version, you bring your own export.

How do I turn one of these into my own report?

Click 'Use this as a template' on any report. You describe it (or upload your dispensing export, PBM remittance, and wholesaler cost file), we read and model the data, and you get a fully built Power BI project — a .pbip you open in Power BI Desktop — back in minutes.
